QUEENSLAND COMMUNITY CARE – UNDER 65
Everglow is funded for the Queensland Community Care program is funded by the state government. It provides basic maintenance and support services for eligible people aged under 65, or under 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, who live at home and whose capacity for independent living is at risk.
Queensland Community Care services are offered in your home or local community and may be provided by government or non-government service providers.

HOME ASSIST SECURE
The Department of Housing, through Home Assist Secure, aims to remove some of the practical housing related difficulties experienced by people with a disability and people over 60 years of age who wish to remain living in their home. Home Assist Secure provides free information and referrals about home maintenance, repairs, modifications and home security. To be eligible, a person must be a home owner or live in rental housing. Subsidised assistance with minor home maintenance, repairs, and security is also available for eligible clients who are in receipt of a Government Pension and are unable to make use of alternative assistance.

HOUSE CALL DOCTOR
After-hours doctors are available to residents living in Townsville and throughout North Queensland. House Call Doctor provides 100% bulk-billed home GP visits to patients, when regular clinics are closed on weeknights, weekends or public holidays. House Call Doctors assist many elderly and disabled patients, and also provide medical support to their full-time carers. TOWNSVILLE REGION COMMITTEE ON THE AGEING INC. (TRCOTA)
TRCOTA works to protect and promote the well-being of all older people in its geographical area. Its aim is mobilise older people, and those who work with them, governments, and the community, to achieve well-being and social justice for older people. TRCOTA Investigates, reports and advocates on issues affecting seniors, whether they are local, state or National.

SENIORS LEGAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES (SLASS) – TOWNSVILLE
The Seniors Legal and Support Service (SLASS) provides free legal and social work support for people over the age of 60 (or 50 in the case of Indigenous people) experiencing elder abuse, mistreatment or financial exploitation.
If you feel you are experiencing these issues you may also contact Everglow’s social worker for a confidential discussion and or referral.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION CENTRE
The Community Information Centre Townsville Inc (CIC) is a not-for-profit community organisation funded primarily by Townsville City Council. It provides a comprehensive information and referral service on services, clubs, and organisations in the Townsville region. The service is free (except for the cost of some publications), confidential and available to any member of the community.

AGED CARE COMPLAINTS SCHEME
The Aged Care Complaints Scheme (the Scheme) provides a free service for anyone to raise their concerns about the quality of care or services being delivered to people receiving aged care services subsidised by the Australian Government.
LifeTec can provide you with specialist information and advice to maximise your independence and safety. This means that older people, as well as children and adults with a disability, can be more independent at home, work or school and in the community.

UnitingCare Personal Alarms
UnitingCare Community’s Personal Alarms aims to assist frail older people, younger people with a disability and their carers by providing a medi-alert alarm service. Everglow can assist you with obtaining an alarm and possibly paying* for the monthly charge.

Safe at Home – (Sisters of Mercy) Alarm
The Safe at Home Program provides quick and easy installation and maintenance of personal medi-alert alarm. This service is for those living in the community who may require support in an emergency. The support is provided via telephone via a person medi-alarm system with a 24 hour monitoring service. Everglow can assist you with obtaining an alarm and possibly paying* for the monthly charge.

MY AGED CARE
My Aged Care provides you with information concerning Commonwealth Government funded programs, including information about:
- different types of aged care services
- eligibility for services
- how the Commonwealth Government understands your aged care needs and will help you find local services to meet your needs (please note you are able to select your own service provider)
- costs of your aged care services, including fee estimators.
To help you find the right services, the contact centre will ask for your consent to create a personalised client record. A client record holds up to date information on your needs and any services you receive. The client record will reduce the need for you to retell your story to the contact centre, assessors and service providers.
Remember you can ask for Everglow Community Care Links Inc services. Everglow is funded for Commonwealth Home Support Program services and Home Care Packages.
